The Consulate General in Frankfurt provides a full range of consular and passport services for American citizens in the states of Hessen, Rheinland-Pfalz, Baden-Württemberg, Saarland, Nordrhein-Westfalen and northern Bavaria.

Please do not bring cellphones or other electronic devices as you will not be able to bring them inside the consulate. Please plan to arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment in order to complete the security screening.

Public Transport:
From the main train station (Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof) take the U5 going to Preungesheim, exit at the Gießener Straße stop.

Parking:
Parking at Gießener Str. and Wetzlarer Str. is limited. A park-and-ride parking garage with 110 slots is located in Frankfurt-Preungesheim next to the exit from A 661 and the subway stop Preungesheim.

American Citizen Services
 
Make an Appointment


American Citizen Services Frankfurt (Passport & Special Consular Services) is closed on
German and American holidays as well as the last Thursday of every month. During normal business hours, we are open to the public by appointment only. If for some reason you cannot keep your appointment, we recommend you cancel your appointment before making a new appointment.  Failure to do so may result in delayed entry to the consulate facility on your new appointment date.

Notice to all Military Personnel in Germany
The U.S. Embassy and U.S. Consulates in Germany are not authorized to accept applications for passports or consular reports of birth abroad from USEUCOM personnel, including military and civilian employees and their family members. According to USAFE Instruction 36-3101, USAREUR Regulation 600-290 and DoD Regulation 1000.21-R, all Department of Defense-affiliated personnel must apply for passports and reports of birth abroad through their Military Personnel Detachment or Det.1.435 Mission Support Squadron, including those seeking expedited services.

Open to the public by appointment only from 7:30-11:30am, Monday through Friday. Closed on German and American holidays, as well as the last Thursday of every month. Reports of Birth
Before making an appointment to report the birth of a U.S. citizen in Germany, please review the relevant information related to Consular Reports of Birth Abroad.
Applications are accepted by appointment only through our online appointment system.

Special Consular Services
Open to the public from 7:30-11:30, Monday to Friday, by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, please contact the section by sending an e-mail to  GermanyACS@state.gov. Closed on German and American holidays, as well as the last Thursday of every month.

Include: Protection and welfare, child custody issues, deaths and estates, services to imprisoned U.S. citizens, repatriations, lists of local English-speaking doctors, dentists and attorneys, U.S. tax forms, voter information and registration, and other general information.

Federal Benefits Unit
Open to the public from 9:00am to 12:00 noon, Monday to Friday. Closed on German and American holidays.

Include: Social Security, Veterans, Railroad and Black Lung benefits, pensions and some civil service matters. Also includes all OPM post-entitlement matters, such as death notices, change of address and non-receipt of payment. For more information, click here.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (Department of Homeland Security)
Open for filing of I-130 petitions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 8:00-11:00 by appointment only through Infopass.
