Charles Kupchan discusses transatlantic relations

Prof. Kupchan (r.) at PRIF
September 17, 2009. The U.S. Consulate General and the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF) invited the internationally renowned political scientist Charles Kupchan from Georgetown University to discuss transatlantic relations at PRIF. In his lecture and discussion with over 40 political experts, Kupchan focused on the changes of U.S. foreign policy under the Obama administration and how these changes affected transatlantic relations. Although in principle optimistic about the future of the relationship, he was worried about a lack of bipartisan congressional support for Obama’s policies and about a renationalization of EU politics.
