Their discussion focused on a wide range of U.S. foreign policy and domestic issues.  Foreign policy topics included the U.S. position on NATO enlargement, the NATO Summit in Bucharest, the War on Terror, and the U.S. strategy to establish stable and democratic governments in Iraq and Afghanistan.  US domestic topics covered in the extensive discussion were the subprime crisis in the United States, the fall of the dollar against the Euro and the presidential election campaign. The discussion concluded with an on-the-record interview that was published on April 4, 2008.
