On November 14th, the U.S. Consulate General organized a USA information session at the Europa Fachhochschule Fresenius, focusing on intercultural competence in US-German business relations. Public Affairs Officer James W. Seward opened the event to a packed room of 80 students, recalling humorous anecdotes of how cultural misunderstanding can lead to some rather uncomfortable situations. Keynote speaker Dr. Brenda Hart Bohne provided insight in how to prevent these kind of misunderstandings and discussed the importance of intercultural competence in the globalized world we live in.  EducationUSA Frankfurt/U.S. Consulate and Juliana Adameit, coordinator of the USA-Interns program, talked about internship opportunities in the U.S.  Following the presentations, the group met with town mayor Gerhard Krum.
