"Lipshitz" reading in Wiesbaden with author T. Cooper (right)
|
February 1, 2007. American author T. Cooper read from her novel "Lipshitz", a story about an American immigrant family, to an audience of 80 people at Literaturhaus Villa Clementine in Wiesbaden. Cooper introduced her audience to the saga of the Lipshitz family, who left Russia during the 1906 pogroms and found a new life in America. Actor Oliver Wronka read from the German version. In the discussion moderated by Kathrin Fischer, a journalist with Hessischer Rundfunk, Cooper shared her idea of linking her fictional family story to the life of American icon Charles Lindbergh.
The program was a cooperation between Literaturhaus Clementine, Mare Buchverlag, and the U.S. Consulate General.
