"Shades of Blue": hr Big Band meets Vincent Herring at Amerika Haus

December 8, 2005. Consul General Peter Bodde opened the final event of the "Amerika Meets Frankfurt" series, a concert entitled “Shades of Blue” featuring the hr Big Band and U.S. sax player Vincent Herring as soloist on December 8th at Amerika Haus. This first-class cross-cultural collaboration, directed by Jörg-Achim Keller, included works by Thad Jones, Duke Ellington, W.C. Handy and Herbie Hancock. In cooperation with Hessischer Rundfunk, "Amerika Meets Frankfurt" has been highlighting the impact of American culture on Frankfurt since 1945 with a total of 18 cultural programs between June 2 and December 8.
