September 28, 2005. Wisconsin writer Paula Sergi reads her poems September 28, 2005. Paula Sergi, writer from Fond du Lac in Wisconsin, read poems from her book 'Family Business to an audience of students of Anna-Schmidt Schule and members of the Hessen-Wisconsin society at Amerika Haus Frankfurt. She spoke about her German roots and her experiences living and writing in Hessen. Sergi was accompanied by Geoffrey Steinherz, actor and singer, who read her novels in German. Sergi and Steinherz engaged the audience in a lively discussion about Sergi's close to life poems. Consul Scott Rauland, a native of Wisconsin himself, greeted the audience and introduced them to his home state of Wisconsin. Sergi is currently the first writer-in-residence of the Hessen Literary Society, the City of Wiesbaden, and the Hessen Ministry for Higher Education, Research and the Arts. Every year, two authors from Hessen partner regions will be chosen to spend three months in Hessen. Between August and end of October 2005 Paula Sergi is living and writing in Wiesbaden. She is touring Hessen, reading from her latest work and teaching creative writing classes.
