November 25, 2005. One day after the official Thanksgiving date, the German-American Club (GAC) in Koblenz gathered to celebrate Thanksgiving as well as the 20th Anniversary of the club's foundation. Public Affairs Officer (PAO) Scott Rauland spoke to the group about U.S. views of the new German government and prospects for improved relations, quoting extensively from Ambassador Timken's recent opinion piece in the Berliner Zeitung. The club also invited college students from Koblenz's sister city of Austin, Texas, who are currently studying in Koblenz, to join them.
