German-American Paint Fest Murals Handed over to Höchst Hospital
September 23, 2008. Public Affairs Officer Jeanine Collins visited the children’s hospital of Städtische Kliniken Höchst to hand over four murals that were painted during the German-American Paint Fest this summer. PD. Dr. med. Lothar Schrod, director of the children’s hospital, showed Jeanine Collins the treatment room, where one of the murals has already found a place and gave them a tour of the hospital. The Paint Fest was organized in June by Scott Feight, director of the Foundation for Hospital Art together with the U.S Consulate and the Hessen Soccer Association to create colorful and soothing artwork that is donated to hospitals to help ease the often stressful hospital experience. Over 80 Frankfurt soccer kids and their families participated in the first German-American Paint Fest, where the young soccer players first played a tournament and then together with their families painted eight murals, which are donated to Frankfurt hospitals. The Paint Fest was sponsored by Halle Foundation, a non-profit organization that was established to increase knowledge and understanding between Germans and Americans.
