U.S. Flag Raised At New Consulate Office Building In Frankfurt


October 11, 2005. The American flag was raised at the new U.S. Consulate General in Frankfurt for the first time this morning. The Marine Guard Detachment Frankfurt presented the colors to Consul General Peter W. Bodde in front of the new Consulate Office Building on Gießener Str. 30.

The Consul General, the Political and Economic Section, as well as the Consular Section (Visa, American Citizen Services and Federal Benefits Unit) of the U.S. Consulate General relocated to the new Frankfurt office building over the Columbus Day Weekend, Oct 8-10, 2005.

The American Citizen Services Section and the Federal Benefits Unit will re-open to regular business in the new location on October 12, 2005. Emergency appointments are available via the Consulate phone operator at 069-7535-0. The visa section will be closed to the public for all but emergency services Wednesday, Oct 12. Limited non-immigrant visa services will be available on October 13 and 14. Full service will resume on Monday, October 17. In case of emergency, visa appointments are available by e-mail at FrankfurtSpecialNIV@state.gov or via Live Operator Service at 0190-850055 (EUR 1,86/min).
