November 17, 2005. The highlight of the U.S. Consulate's International Education Week program was a visit to the Anna-Schmidt High School in Frankfurt. Public Affairs Officer (PAO) Scott Rauland and Cultural Affairs staffers talked to a group of forty 12th graders about the work of the Consulate General in Frankfurt and discussed current U.S. policy issues. Through the personal dialogue with the PAO and his colleagues, the students gained new perspectives on topics such as U.S. goals for building democracy in Iraq, individualism and rights in the U.S., and the State Department’s Doors to Diplomacy 2006 competition.
