Consul General Powell joins Freiburg Students and NY Dance Companies for "Dancing to Connect" performance

July 17, 2007. Consul General Jo Ellen Powell attended the performance of "Dancing to Connect," a joint project of New York modern dance companies Battery Dance Company and Drastic Action on July 17. In week-long workshops prior to the performance, dancers from the two groups instructed students from five Freiburg high schools in the principles of modern dance, after which the students created their own dance pieces. The students' work was performed in the morning and in the evening alongside pieces by the professional dance companies to over 1600 enthusiastic audience members at Freiburg's City Theater.
