Consul General Alford

U.S. Consul General Alford hosted by AGBC Frankfurt
September 29, 2009. The American-German Business Club Frankfurt inivited U.S. Consul General Edward M. Alford to be the guest speaker at a luncheon at the Evonik company in Frankfurt.  Introduced by AGBC president David Knower, the Consul General gave a speech on "The United States and Germany:  Common Challenges 2009 and Beyond" and subsequently answered questions from a large audience of members and guests. In his remarks, he focused on the current financial and economic crisis emphasizing the importance of joint, coordinated action, of a reform of the international financial system and of an expansion of free trade.  This could result in the global economy emerging from the crisis stronger than before.
