Ambassador Timken praised German-American relations

November 7, 2008. Before departing for Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Ambassador William R. Timken Jr. delivered the opening address at the November 7 Transatlantic Business Conference “The Transatlantic Marketplace: Challenges and Opportunities beyond 2008” hosted by AmCham Germany, F.A.Z. Institute, and the Federation of German Industries/BDI. Addressing high ranking business leaders and politicians, Ambassador Timken highlighted the economic interrelation between the United States and Germany, which have become the bedrock of the bilateral relationship. In a PA-arranged farewell interview with the regional daily newspaper “Mannheimer Morgen”, Ambassador Timken said that German American relations have never been better in history than today. In his keynote address to the German American Women’s Club of Heidelberg which celebrated its 60th anniversary, he praised the German-American relations as a true global partnership between equals.
